A move overseas can be one of the most exciting decisions you ever make. It can also be one of the most complex.
Most people quickly discover that information is scattered across websites, Facebook groups, YouTube channels, visa agents, property developers and well-meaning expats. Some of it is excellent. Some of it is outdated. Much of it reflects a particular agenda or personal experience.
Asia Retirement & Relocation Consulting was created to help people step back from the noise, understand the bigger picture, and make more informed decisions about whether a move to Southeast Asia is right for them. That includes the practicalities of evaluating destinations such as Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia and Cambodia.
I have spent more than two decades working in wealth management, helping individuals and families make significant financial decisions and navigate major life transitions.
Alongside that professional background, I have longstanding personal connections to Southeast Asia and have been travelling throughout the region for most of my life. My family has roots in Malaysia, and it was also where I began my own career after university.
As I started exploring my own longer-term plans for retirement, I found myself asking many of the same questions that clients ask today. Not just where to live, but how healthcare would work, what would happen if circumstances changed, how family considerations might evolve, and whether the reality would match the expectation.
What became clear was that there was no shortage of information. What was missing was context and structure.
The purpose of Asia Retirement & Relocation Consulting is not to tell people where they should retire. It is to help them think more clearly about the decision itself, identify the questions they may not yet have considered, and understand how different choices might affect them over the years ahead.
Whilst I do not provide regulated financial, legal or tax advice, I work alongside your existing professional advisers and can help you understand where specialist advice may be required, identify appropriate professionals, and approach the process in a structured and informed way. The decision is always yours; my role is to help you make it with greater clarity and confidence.
